IIT Hydrogen, Arcadis and GAe: working together for a sustainable and secure future thanks to green hydrogen

21/05/2025

A strategic alliance for Italy's energy transition: IIT Hydrogen, Arcadis and GAe are combining their expertise and innovation to drive the development of green hydrogen, focusing on sustainability, safety and cutting-edge infrastructure

The energy transition towards a low-emission future is a challenge that requires expertise, vision and synergy. This is why IIT Hydrogen, Arcadis and GAe Engineering have formed a partnership, three complementary entities that bring experience, innovation and an integrated approach to sustainability and safety to the Italian market.

IIT Hydrogen is the first company in Italy to coordinate a Hydrogen Valley, bringing over ten years of experience in the design, construction and management of plants for the production and distribution of green hydrogen. Arcadis, a world leader in environmental and engineering consulting, ensures compliance with the highest standards in terms of sustainability, land health and environmental management. Finally, GAe Engineering is a benchmark in Italy for fire protection design and industrial safety: thanks to the use of advanced technologies such as fluid dynamics modelling and tailor-made prevention strategies, GAe ensures that every project is safe, efficient and compliant with regulations.

Together, the three companies offer a comprehensive, turnkey service to support public and private clients through all stages: from technical and environmental design to permit management and tendering, through to the construction, operational management and maintenance of hydrogen infrastructure. All this with a single point of contact, guaranteed timelines, maximum efficiency and attention to safety.

A concrete example of this synergy is the Hydrogen Valley in Villadossola, financed with PNRR funds: the design phase has been successfully completed, while construction work is currently underway. This project already demonstrates how green hydrogen can contribute to the decarbonisation of transport and industrial competitiveness, while ensuring high safety standards.

Expertise, reliability, innovation and sustainability are the foundations on which we are building a cleaner, safer and more resilient future for communities and businesses.
