LIFEalps Project

<-- go back to projects

The LIFE 2021-2027 program is an EU funding initiative aimed at promoting innovations and investments to achieve environmental, climate, and energy goals, supporting ecological transitions and improving governance.

The integrated LIFEalps project fosters the development of a zero-emission transport system in South Tyrol and neighboring regions, with the aim of making the Alpine region a model area for zero-emission mobility. Its key actions include infrastructure expansion, creation of pilot fleets, development of eco-sustainable services, and communication of initiatives.

IIT Hydrogen acts as the project manager and supports SASA, the project coordinator, in all aspects of project development and implementation.

The LIFEalps project has facilitated the purchase of hydrogen cars. On behalf of SASA, IIT Hydrogen manages the fleet of Hyundai Nexo and Toyota Mirai vehicles, leased to local companies interested in experimenting with this technology.
