The plant is designed to refuel trailers up to 500 bar, which will supply the SASA refuelling stations in Bolzano and Merano. The configuration includes a 2 MW PEM electrolyser, expandable to 4 MW, with a production capacity of up to 400 Nmc\/h at 40 bar, a 50 m\u00b3 intermediate storage buffer, two piston compressors rated at 500 Nmc\/h at 500 bar, and two trailer refuelling bays, expandable to three. The technical equipment is complemented by auxiliary systems supporting the process, including the instrument air compressor and nitrogen bundles for inerting. The facility has been designed to ensure operational continuity, operational flexibility and the possibility of expansion in line with the site\u2019s future requirements.<\/p>\n
IIT Hydrogen has also been entrusted with managing the first four months of commissioning and maintenance for the following two years. This contribution confirms the company\u2019s role in the most critical phases of projects related to the production, compression and distribution of renewable hydrogen.<\/p>\n
The new plant, built in part thanks to funding from the European LIFEalps project, represents a significant step forward in the development of the green hydrogen supply chain in South Tyrol and in the construction of infrastructure dedicated to sustainable mobility.
