IIT Hydrogen’s participation in the fourth edition of HydrogenExpo – Italy’s leading trade fair dedicated to renewable hydrogen, which took place in Piacenza from 9 to 11 June – was a success.
The company’s presence at the fair generated significant interest in the data and insights shared on the sector, covering both development opportunities and market expectations.
During the event, IIT Hydrogen also presented, for the first time to the public, the feasibility study developed for Kofler Rech AG – a project that explores the integration of green hydrogen into an existing industrial model, taking a practical approach to decarbonisation and the optimisation of energy produced from renewable sources. The initiative attracted particular attention due to its potential for replication in other ‘hard-to-abate’ industrial contexts and its ability to transform an operational constraint – such as seasonal production – into a strategic opportunity.
Confirming the value of the project concept and the work carried out, the project also received an award at the Italian Hydrogen Technology Awards 2026 in the ‘Industrial Sector’ category. The award served as further testament to the level of innovation and the soundness of the approach proposed by IIT Hydrogen, helping to strengthen the company’s position as a qualified partner in the energy transition and in the development of solutions for renewable hydrogen.
